NÃO PERCA: Release Dates, Casts, and More 🍿

Is your New Year’s resolution is to watch more movies this year? Netflix is making that easy for you, with a brand new slate of 2026 Netflix movies coming to the streaming over the next 12 months. You won’t even have to go to the movie theater to see them. (That said, you should still go to the movie theater. It’s fun!)

The 2026 Netflix movies including swoon-worthy romances like People We Meet on Vacation, star-studded thrillers like The Rip, and continuations of beloved franchises, like Enola Holmes 3. There’s something for everyone in the 2026 Netflix movie slate, and Decider is here to help you prepare, with a list of the most highly-anticipated new movies coming to Netflix in 2026.

That said, the majority of the Netflix movies coming out in 2026 don’t yet have an official release date. Stay tuned, because we’re sure we’ll have more news to share on that front soon. We should also note that it’s possible not all of these movies will come to Netflix this year—but we certainly hope they do.

  • PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION, from left: Emily Bader, Tom Blyth, 2026.

    RELEASE DATE: 1/9/26
STARS: Emily Bader, Tom Blyth, Lukas Gage, Jameela Jamil, Alan Ruck, Molly Shannon
    DIRECTOR: Brett Haley

Netflix is kicking off 2026 with a real treat for romance fans—a film adaptation of Emily Henry’s best-selling 2021 novel, People We Meet on Vacation. Emily Bader, best known as the star of the short-lived Amazon series My Lady Jane, stars in the film as Poppy Wright, a free-spirited travel journalist who loves taking vacations with her uptight BFF, Alex (played by the newest Hunger Games heart throb Tom Blyth). Poppy and Alex’s relationship is totally platonic… until one day, it isn’t.

  • THE RIP, from left: Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, 2026.
Photo: Claire Folger / © Netflix / Courtesy Everett Collection

    RELEASE DATE: 1/16/26
STARS: Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor
    DIRECTOR: Joe Carnahan

Matt and Ben are back at it again, co-starring as action heroes in this upcoming thriller, written and directed by Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Boss Level). Though Damon and Affleck are well-known Boston besties who have been working together since co-writing Good Will Hunting, this is the first time they will share the screen as bonafide co-leads. That’s pretty wicked! In The Rip, they will star as Miami cops who discover a stash of cash, and must fend off corruption as they work together to solve the case.

  • PEAKY BLINDERS: THE IMMORTAL MAN, Cillian Murphy, 2026.
Photo: Robert Viglasky / © Netflix / Courtesy Everett Collection

RELEASE DATE: 3/6/26 in theaters, 3/20/26 on Netflix
STARS: Cillian Murphy, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan
    DIRECTOR: Tom Harper

Peaky Blinders fans, rejoice, because this British crime drama series, which ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2022, is getting its very own feature film, to continue the story. To quote Abed Nadir: Six seasons and movie! Cillian Murphy will lead the cast as Thomas Shelby, who will come out of his self-imposed exile to face his demons amidst the chaos of World War II. Alongside all of the original cast from the show, the movie also features a few new faces, played by Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan. And don’t worry, the script was written by series creator Steven Knight.

  • Taron Egerton as Ben and Charlize Theron as Sasha in APEX
    Photo: Kane Skennar/Netflix

    RELEASE DATE: 4/24/26
STARS: Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, Eric Bana
    DIRECTOR: Baltasar Kormákur

Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton have both had successful Netflix action flicks of their own, with The Old Guard and Carry On. So it only makes sense that Netflix would combine their star powers in this upcoming survival action thriller, starring Theron as a rock climber being chases through the wilderness by a serial killer (Egerton). Also starring Eric Bana, this one is sure to be a breath-taking ride.

  • BARBIE, director Greta Gerwig, on set,
    Photo: ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection

RELEASE DATE: 11/26/26 in theaters, followed by a streaming release on Netflix (TBA)
STARS: Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, David McKenna, Beatrice Campbell
    DIRECTOR: Greta Gerwig

The Netflix film I’m most looking forward to in 2026 is definitely the Greta Gerwig adaption of The Magician’s Nephew, the first book, chronologically, in the C.S. Lewis Chronicles of Narnia series. Sex Education‘s Emma Mackey stars as Jadis the White Witch, Carey Mulligan stars as the mother, Mabel Kirke, and newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell play Digory and Polly, children who use magic rings to explore new worlds. Gerwig has already proven herself a master of big-budget, kid-friendly romps with Barbie, and a master of book adaptations with Little Women. I have faith this one will be great, too.

  • Brad Pitt, Quentin Tarantino, and David Fincher
Photos: Everett Collection, Getty Images ; Illustration: Dillen Phelps

    RELEASE DATE: 2026 TBA
STARS: Brad Pitt, Timothy Olyphant, Scott Caan, Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
    DIRECTOR: David Fincher

Quentin Tarantino is getting around his promise to make only 10 films by having David Fincher (Fight Club, The Social Network) direct the sequel to 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Brad Pitt and Timothy Olyphant are back as Cliff Booth and James Stacy, a stunt performer and TV western actor from the 1960s. But Leonardo DiCaprio will not be returning to his lead role as Rick Dalton—not even for a cameo. DiCaprio reportedly turned down the offer to return, which feels like a bad omen for this sequel. Still, we’re curious to see what Fincher and Tarantino do with this one.

  • RELEASE DATE: 2026 TBA
STARS: Sally Field, Lewis Pullman, Colm Meaney
    DIRECTOR: Olivia Newman

The best-selling 2022 mystery novel by Shelby Van Pelt will soon be a Netflix movie starring Sally Field, and we can’t wait to watch it. The adaptation is directed by Olivia Newman (Where the Crawdads Sing), who also co-wrote the script with John Whittington. Oscar-winner Sally Field stars as Tova Sullivan, a 70-year old-widow who cleans a aquarium at night and befriends a giant octopus. The book was a wild success, and we have a feeling the film will be, too.

  • Ben Affleck and Gillian Anderson
    Photo: Getty Images

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Ben Affleck, Gillian Anderson, Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Adriana Paz, Ray Fisher
    DIRECTOR: Ben Affleck

2026 is going to be a big year for Ben Affleck Netflix movies. In addition to The Rip, Affleck will also direct and star in another crime thriller, written by Affleck, Connor O. McIntyre and Billy Ray. In this one, Affleck stars as a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped. Affleck and his on-screen wife (Gillian Anderson) have just hours to collect the ransom and save their child. And they’ll do whatever it takes to get that money.

  • Enola Holmes 2 true story
    Photo: Alex Bailey/Netflix © 2022

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge, Himesh Patel, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter
    DIRECTOR: Philip Barantini

While you’re mourning the end of Stranger Things, you can take comfort in the fact that Millie Bobby Brown will be back on your Netflix screen soon in the third Enola Holmes movie. Brown will once again star as Enola, the younger sister of the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes (played by Henry Cavill). These days, Enola has her own detective agency, though she sometimes still needs help from her older brother and his doctor friend (Himesh Patel). We don’t know much about the plot of the third movie yet, but we do know that Louis Partridge will be back as the adorable Tewkesbury.

  • Greta Lee and Wagner Moura behind the scenes of 11817 movie
    Photo: CHRIS BAKER/NETFLIX

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
    STARS: Greta Lee, Wagner Moura
    DIRECTOR: Louis Leterrier

Greta Lee and Wagner Moura star in the lead roles of this upcoming sci-fi flick, which sounds a bit like that German Netflix original from 2025, Brick. Directed by Louis Leterrier, with a screenplay written by Matthew Robinson, the premise follows a family who are sealed into their home with no way of getting out. Let’s hope they still have WiFi!

  • Where was the Kevin Hart movie Lift filmed?
    Photo: Stefano Cristiano Montesi/Netflix

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Kevin Hart, Teyana Taylor, Ben Marshall, Zach Cherry, Kam Patterson, Marcello Hernández
    DIRECTOR: Tim Story

While I don’t expect the new Kevin Hart comedy coming to Netflix next year to be good, exactly, hopefully it’ll at least be a fun romp. The premise? Kevin Hart gets added to a group chat for a bachelor’s party by accident. Though he’s old enough to be their dad, he decides to tag along with the guys. To me, the most exciting part of the film is that SNL‘s star player, Marcello Hernández, has a supporting role. He already crushed it as the caddie in Happy Gilmore 2, so hopefully this is another stepping stone in Hernández’s movie career.

  • Adam Sandler and his daughter Sunny Sandler
    Photo: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Sunny Sandler, Melanie Lynskey, Max Greenfield, Stephanie Beatriz, Bebe Neuwirth, Steve Buscemi
    DIRECTOR: Julia Hart

It seems Adam Sandler will never stop casting his teenage daughter in his movies, and we’re not complaining, because she’s delightful. The next movie from Sandler’s Happy Madison productions for Netflix will be a musical starring Sunny Sandler as a high school theater kid prepping to play the lead in the school’s next big show. It sounds like the Sandler version of High School Musical, and we’re very much here for that.

  • NEW YORK, NEW YORK - AUGUST 20: Sarah Sherman attends Netflix's "Adam Sandler: Love You" New York Screening at The Plaza Hotel on August 20, 2024 in New York City.
    Photo: Mike Coppola/Getty Images

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Sarah Sherman, Natasha Lyonne, Nick Kroll, Sadie Sandler, Chloe East, Storm Reid
    DIRECTOR: Chandler Levack

Speaking of Adam Sandler and current Saturday Night Live stars in Netflix movies, Sarah Sherman is set to star in another upcoming movie from Sandler’s Happy Madison production company. Written by fellow SNL writers Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara O’Sullivan, Roommates tells the story of a very uncool college freshman who ask a very cool student to be her roommate. We don’t know for sure that this will be on Netflix in 2026, but filming wrapped in the summer. Fingers crossed!

  • Alan Ritchson
    Photo: Mike Coppola

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Alan Ritchson, Dennis Quaid, Stephan James,
    DIRECTOR: Patrick Hughes

This sci-fi action flick starring Reacher‘s Alan Ritchson wrapped filming back in 2024, but didn’t make it on to the Netflix 2025 film slate. Hopefully, 2026 will be War Machine‘s year. Directed by Patrick Hughes (known for The Hitman’s Bodyguard and its sequel), who also co-wrote the script with James Beaufort, the film stars Ritchson as a special ops boot camp recruit, who must face off with a dark force from another world. Those CGI aliens will be no match for his CGI bullets!

  • Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike
    Photo: Getty Images

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Sacha Baron Cohen, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Emily Mortimer, Charles Dance, Fiona Shaw, Tom Davis and Kathryn Hunter.
    DIRECTOR: Thea Sharrock

English director Thea Sharrock has a comedy coming to Netflix that is sure to ruffle a few feathers: A movie where a sexist man (played by Sacha Baron Cohen) wakes up in a world where women hold all the power. We’re going to avoid the comments section on the trailer for this one, but we can’t wait to watch Oscar-nominated actor Rosamund Pike go head-to-head with Cohen.

  • Robert de niro
    Photo: ABC

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Robert De Niro, Michelle Monaghan, Adam Scott, Michael Keaton, John Carroll Lynch, Hamish Linklater, Owen Teague
    DIRECTOR: James Ashcroft

The Russo Brothers, via their production company AGBO, are once again pumping out an expensive action movie for Netflix that critics will hate, but viewers will watch in droves. (Previous AGBO Netflix films include The Electric State, Extraction, and The Gray Man). This time it’s legendary actor Robert De Niro taking home the big paycheck. De Niro plays a retired police detective, who helps his son (Adam Scott) track down his kidnapped grandson. It’s possible you might have to wait until 2027 for this one, but we do know that filming wrapped in June.

  • Jennifer Lopez in 'The Wedding Planner' Brett Goldstein in 'Ted Lasso'
    Photo: Columbia/Colin Hutton /©Apple TV+/courtesy Everett Collection

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
    STARS: Jennifer Lopez, Brett Goldstein
    DIRECTOR: Ol Parker

Ted Lasso heartthrob Brett Goldstein is going all in on his romantic comedy career. Last year, he wrote and starred in the romance All of You for Apple TV+, and now he’s turning to Netflix for a new romantic comedy that he co-wrote with Joe Kelly, and will star in. The best part? He managed to snag Jennifer Lopez as his lead. Directed by Ol Parker (Imagine Me & You, Ticket to Paradise), Office Romance doesn’t have an official logline yet, but we imagine it will involve some sort of romance at some sort of office.

  • Sean Harris and Robert Pattinson are seen on the set of "Here Comes the Flood" in Newark, New Jersey
    Photo: Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, Daisy Edgar-Jones
    DIRECTOR: Fernando Meirelles

Brazilian filmmaker Fernando Meirelles (City of God, The Two Popes) is returning Netflix to direct a new heist film that is sure to get awards hype, if only for the cast alone. Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Sean Harris star. While we don’t know who plays who, we do know the logline: “A bank guard, a teller, and a master thief get caught in a deadly game of cons and double crosses.” Filming doesn’t wrap until the end of this month, so never say never, but you might be waiting until 2027 for this one.

  • Jennifer Lopez
    Photo: Theo Wargo/WireImage

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
    STARS: Jennifer Lopez
    DIRECTOR: Robert Zemeckis

After the success of The Mother, it seems Netflix is all in on JLo. In addition to her rom-com with Brett Goldstein, Lopez is also set to star in the upcoming Netflix film adaptation of The Last Mrs. Parrish, a crime novel by Liv Constantine. Lopez will star as Daphne Parrish, the wealthy wife of Jackson Parrish (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), who become the targets of an elaborate con job. The film wrapped production in September, with Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis at the helm.

  • NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 10: Eric Andre and John Cena are seen on the set of “Little Brother on August 10, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by XNY/Star Max/GC Images) *** Local Caption ***Eric Andre;John Cena
    Photo: XNY/Star Max/GC Images

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: John Cena, Eric André, Michelle Monaghan, Christopher Meloni, Ego Nwodim, Sherry Cola
    DIRECTOR: Matt Spicer

Eric André and John Cena are the hilarious dynamic duo that you never knew you needed. In their upcoming Netflix action comedy, Cena stars as the boring, straight-laced realtor whose life is upended by his wacky younger brother (André). It’s a classic set up that likely won’t win any awards, but will definitely deliver some laughs.

  • Jamie Foxx
    Photo: Amy Sussman/Getty

    RELEASE DATE: TBA
STARS: Jamie Foxx, Malachi Beasley, Shea Whigham, Dan Perrault
    DIRECTOR: Andrés Baiz

We’re not holding our breath to get this upcoming Jamie Foxx sports drama in 2026, given that we’re not even sure if the film, which started production in September, has wrapped filming yet. Still, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that Netflix viewers will get to see Foxx star as a boxing coach who must put together a whole new team for the 1984 Olympics, after his previous team dies in a tragic plane crash. It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Foxx in a serious, dramatic role. Could this be his shot at a second Oscar win?
